The Family Dermatology Life Quality Index — formulation and validation of the Polish version
Abstract
Introduction: Atopic dermatitis appears to be one of the most popular skin diseases of children and strongly influences the quality of patients’ and their parents life. The aim of the study was to create the Polish language version of a questionnaire estimating skin disease impact on family life quality.
Material and methods: Formulation of the Polish language version of The Family Dermatology Life Quality Index (FDLQI) was done with international standards. The validation of the Polish version was performed in a group of 30 parents.
Results: The results concerning integrity were very good, Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was 0.84. Reproducibility level was established with coefficient ICC, which stands at 0.69.
Conclusions: The Polish language version of FDLQI allows to estimate the impact of skin disease on the life quality of family members of the patient.
