Abstract

In 33 embryos the retinal thickness and neuronal density was investigated. Diameter of the eye in relation to embryonic age increases linearly to stage ZO and after this period is more pronounced. Thickness of the external nuclear layer increases slowly in the investigated period. The internal nuclear layer appears at stage 17 and in increases in thickness fourfold to the end of embryonic period.
