Abstract

Myocarditis is a complex disease that can manifest itself in various symptoms including chest pain, irregular or fast heartbeat, shortness of breath at rest or during less-than-ordinary activity, fatigue. It should be emphasized that myocarditis often develops in young patients who have never been diagnosed with a cardiovascular disorder as a results of respiratory tract infection. Long-term prognosis is uncertain, ranging from full recovery to end-stage heart failure. Treatment of myocarditis depends on its etiology and the intensity of inflammatory process of the myocardium.
