Abstract

In this review authors showed the problem of hypertension and obesity in young patients. One of the goals was to demonstrate how to measure blood pressure and body mass index properly in this population. The authors brought up epidemiological data about hypertension and body mass index values in adolescence. Obesity and elevated blood pressure are found very often in young population. The presence of this diseases in youth influences the development of cardiovascular problems in adult age. This work emphasizes the importance of early treatment of hypertension in young patients, especially nonpharmacological. Both obesity and hypertension in adolescence become the new challenges for pediatrics and health care managers.
