Cardiosurgical aspects of the ectopia cordis

Abstract
The case is presented of a 2710 g newborn female with prenatally diagnosed ectopia cordis.
Postnatal transthoracic echocardiography showed the presence of a ductus-dependent
intracardiac lesion. The neonate was treated surgically on the first day of life. Different
surgical aspects of ectopia cordis are discussed.
