Europejski Kodeks Opieki Onkologicznej
Streszczenie
Istnieją znaczne różnice w jakości opieki onkologicznej i skuteczności leczenia chorych na nowotwory w różnych krajach europejskich, regionach, placówkach medycznych i środowiskach. Jest tak, pomimo wprowadzenia wielu europejskich i krajowych strategii onkologicznych, szeregu zaleceń klinicznych oraz opartych na dowodach zaleceń dotyczących dobrych praktyk w planowaniu systemów medycznej opieki onkologicznej. W niniejszej pracy przedstawiono Europejski Kodeks Opieki Onkologicznej (EKOO), który jest powszechnie dostępnym, zogniskowanym na chorych onkologicznych dokumentem dotyczącym podstawowych wymogów dobrej praktyki klinicznej w leczeniu nowotworów. EKOO określa 10 kluczowych praw, których spełnienia pacjent może oczekiwać od systemu opieki zdrowotnej. Prawa te obejmują równy dostęp do przystępnej cenowo i możliwie najlepszej opieki onkologicznej, rzetelną informację o chorobie, jej leczeniu oraz jakości i wynikach planowanego postępowania. Szczególną rolę w tym procesie odgrywają zarówno wyspecjalizowane wielodyscyplinarne zespoły opieki onkologicznej, jak i podejmowanie decyzji wspólne z chorym, uwzględnianie badań i innowacji oraz zapewnienie dobrej jakości życia, a także opieka wspomagająca i paliatywna. Istnieje potrzeba systematycznego podejścia do wspierania ozdrowieńców, tworzenie dla nich planów opieki, w tym rehabilitacji, reintegracji ze społeczeństwem i — w miarę możliwości — powrotu do pracy zawodowej bez dyskryminacji. EKOO został stworzony wspólnie przez zespół pacjentów, ich rzeczników oraz onkologów, aby połączyć wytyczne kliniczne, politykę zdrowotną i codzienne doświadczenia pacjentów. Opiera się na dowodach naukowych i jest poparty kompleksowym przeglądem piśmiennictwa medycznego oraz zasadami dobrej praktyki klinicznej. EKOO został zaaprobowany przez europejskie specjalistyczne i pacjenckie organizacje onkologiczne oraz Komisję Europejską.
