Abstract

Motor neuron disease (MND) is an incurable, progressive disease of motor neurons. The course is usually dramatic and the average survival is 3-4 years. Symptomatic treatment includes pain control, dyspnea, dysphagia, drooling and emotional lability. Other problems the teams will encounter with these patients in the terminal phase of disease include communication, care for the families, spiritual care.
