Abstract

Ovarian carcinoma is one of more frequent malignant female neoplasms in the world. It is characterized by high mortality connected with the late diagnosis. Symptoms of the ovarian cancer are non-characteristic (constipation, flatulence, abdominal pain), but very troublesome for patients. Ascites may occur in 1/3 patients, which makes their feeling cosiderably worse. Chemotherapy used as a palliative treatment may cause reduction of unpleasant troubles and thanks to this improve quality of life of women with advanced stage of ovarian carcinoma. In this paper we describe case of the patient with disseminated ovarian carcinoma, which after palliative chemotherapy, achieved decrease of ascites, suffering control and improvement of quality of life.
