Abstract

The aim of the study is to present the status of surgical treatment of internal carotid artery (ICA) stenosis in Poland. All data were obtained from the reports received from 13 vascular surgery centres in Poland. Preoperative diagnostic tests, the number of operations, intraoperative monitoring and surgical techniques were analysed. The problems of surgical brain ischaemia with reference to literature were described in the discussion.
