Abstract

Background. The work concerns the possibilities of application of the new thermometric test - cooling test.
Material and methods. A study group consisted of 45 subjects, aged 10–60 years. These were patients with diseases causing peripheral circulatory dysfunction - 2 patients with peripheral artery occlusive disease (PAOD), 9 with Raynaud disease, 9 with anorexia nervosa, 2 with psychoneurosis and symptoms suggesting angioneurosis (but clinically without signs of vascular dysfunction), 6 with after-effects of chilblains and 17 with diabetes mellitus type 1.
The control group consisted of 51 healthy patients aged 10–50 years.
The test is based on continuous thermometry method, using original electronic equipment and innovative software. It refers to well-confirmed clinical observations referring to the relationships between parameters of heat distribution and function of local microcirculation.
Results. The results of our observations showed, that the thermometric parameters in patients with angioneurosis, anorexia nervosa, diabetes mellitus type 1 with symptoms of microangiopathy, patients with aftereffects of chilblains as well as subjects with PAOD differ from the parameters typical of healthy subjects.
Conclusions. Our observations suggest, that the new thermometric test can be useful in the differential diagnosis of Raynaud syndrome and angioneurosis as well as in the estimation of evolution of microcirculatory dysfunction. It can be useful in the estimation of the usefulness of administered drugs.
