Abstract

Horseshoe kidney (HK) accompanying abdominal aortic aneurysm is a rare pathology creating a challenge for a surgeon particularly when is not recognized before the procedure. The operation of rupted aortic aneurysm with accompanying horseshoe kidney is a very specific and difficult situation. In literature several ways of management of HK with accompanying aneurysm have been described, depending on the approach and anatomy. In this paper authors present their own experience with surgical management of a patient with aortic aneurysm and HK, without dissection of horseshoe kidney isthmus.
