Abstract

Penetrating injuries of the abdominal aorta are rare but extremely dangerous and potentially lethal because of massive haemorrhage requiring urgent surgical treatment. Among the causes of trauma, gunshots and stab wounds are considered the most common.
In this article, we present the results of endovascular treatment by means of stentgraft implantation in a patient with huge infradiaphragmatic pseudoaneurysm caused by stab wound done by knife confirmed in computed tomography angiogram. The endovascular repair was shown to be an effective alternative for open surgery in three-year postoperative follow-up.
