The efficiency of magnetic fields in the treatment of leukocytoclastic vasculitis
Acta Angiologica 2010;16(2):93-98.
Abstract
Cases of vasculitis constitute essential clinical and therapeutic problems because in the majority of cases it is
not possible to establish its aetiology. Knowledge of the clinical and morphological features of such illnesses is
very important because the occurrence of changes on the skin very often precede later changes in internal
organs. The symptoms of these diseases appear to be very burdensome, and conventional pharmacological
therapy brings results that are very limited. Ever more often in medicine, in the absence of positive, satisfactory
effects of conventional treatment, physical methods are used in therapy. This article presents the treatment
of a 73-year-old female patient who was subjected to magnetotherapy, having had a diagnosis of
leukocytoclastic vasculitis of the right foot. The therapeutic results obtained are a contribution in support of
the continued application of magnetic fields in the treatment of this disease.
