Abstract

One of the treatment methods in lymphatic system failure due to its overload or damage is manual lymph drainage (MLD). In this article the physiological basis of MLD usage in lymphatic insufficiency have been described. Although studies show only a transient effect of MLD used alone, it may be beneficial as an adjunctive therapy not only in angiology, but also in rehabilitation, sport medicine, and cosmetology.
