Abstract

In the article the most recent publications on abdominal aortic aneurysm screening were presented. All analyzed papers increase the importance of early detection and elective operating treatment in reducing abdominal aortic aneurysms related mortality. Published to date scientific evidences and recommendations have supported national abdominal aortic aneurysm screening programmes. The range of the problem, major risk factors, as well as the benefits of widespread screening and the recommendations on population-based screening management for abdominal aortic aneurysm were discussed.
