Infertile couples sexual syndrome

Abstract
Introduction. Involuntary childlessness, because of its prevalence in Poland (more than 1.5 milion infertile couples), is nowadays a social problem. It leads to chronic stress, which influences negatively all aspects of life of the affected couples, including sexuality. The aim of the study is an attempt to create as complete as possible picture of infertile couples sexual syndrom, by defining its clinical symptoms.
Material and methods. In the years 20072011 and in the first quarter of 2012 the authors of the study investigated the sexual aspects of life of 317 infertile couples. A dedicated questionnaire was developed to collect relevant data.
Results. The acquired data was presented as percentage in tables, each of them with relevant comment. The negative influence of infertility on psychophysical functioning of affected couples was proven.
Conclusions. The authors decided to replace the final conclusions by listing clinical features of the syndrome which is the theme of the paper.
