Kidney metastases of the lung cancer
Onkol. Prak. Klin 2009;5(5):215-218.
Abstract
Renal metastases of the lung tumours are most frequently clinically silent, and their diagnosis is confirmed
by postmortem examination. This study presents a patient with diagnosed metastasis of squamous cell
lung carcinoma to the kidney. Fifteen months after a tumour of the left lung was removed, ultrasonography
and computer tomography reveale the presence of a tumour of the left kidney. Left-sided nephrectomy
was performed and histopathological examination confirmed the presence of metastatic squamous cell
carcinoma.
