Abstract

Anticancer treatment offered to elderly requests basic knowledge on geriatric problems and understanding the limits related to reduced functional reserves. Cetuximab was prescribed as the rescue monotherapy to 82 years old women with metastatic colon cancer following failure of systemic treatment. The decrease in bothersome disease symptoms and temporary remission of metastatic lesions revealed in the imaging assessment were observed during treatment. Patient survived additional 10 months. Treatment was  well tolerated and toxicity was easy manageable. Monotherapy with cetuximab can be a valuable palliative option in the adequately selected patients.
