Abstract
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is defined as a portion of the blood fraction having a concentrate of platelets in a small volume of plasma. Growth factors which are being released from platelets alpha-granules enhance the regeneration of injured tissue. PRP has been widely used in stomatology, orthopedics and recently in sport medicine and plastic surgery. The objective of this article is topresent current knowledge about PRP.
