Abstract

Nephrectomy for transplantation is a special operation
because the procedure concerns a healthy person
and a healthy organ. When preparing for such
surgery, medical personnel must remember the basic
principle that, first and foremost, the good of the
donor is important at every stage of the procedure.
Therefore, it is very important to minimize the risk
of direct and long-term health consequences for
the donor. An important aspect is the selection of
the surgical technique so that it is the least invasive
for the donor. As well as preoperative, intraoperative
and postoperative care should be provided in
accordance with the latest standards and minimize
the possibility of complications, and thus reduce
hospital stay.
