Abstract

The lack of possibility of urinary diversion into the urinary bladder in potential recipients of a kidney is not a contraindication to its transplantation. With success, most often the diversion is made with the use of a bowel insert with Bricker’s method.

The aim of the paper is presenting the nursing interventions on the example of description of two patients who underwent kidney transplantation with urinary diversion with Bricker’s method (urostomy). The first patient is a recipient who underwent kidney transplantation and at the same time the urostomy was made in that person. The second patient is a patient
with whom urinary diversion was made into theearlier formed Bricker’s loop.

Nursing interventions were conditioned by nursing problems and they differed slightly in described cases. Presented nursing interventions are typical actions for the group of kidney recipients and specific for the patients with urostomy.
