Nephrology nurses tasks associated with the production and maintenance of vascular access for hemodialysis

Abstract

An increasing number of centers of nephrology allow the inclusion of renal replacement therapy broader group of patients, which include, among others, patients with diabetic nephropathy with extensive comorbidity. This situation creates many problems to form and maintain adequate vascular access for hemodialysis exercise. The best way to proceed in this regard is the timely formation of arterio-venous vascular own predialysis and its proper care of both the nurse and the patient. An important part of preparation for the use of arteriovenous fistula health education is designed to teach the principles of patient self-care. It is important that the commitment and willingness of cooperation between the patient and the nurse. This fact has a significant impact on the functioning of the anastomosis time in the longterm, and limits the development of complications. The following paper presents important elements of patient education in the preparation of vascular access for hemodialysis. The article describes an important role in reducing patient complications resulting from the weakness and fragility of the veins used to develop an optimal production of vascular access for hemodialysis. In order to complement the subject was placed in the article case reports referring to its content.
