Using a special computer program for peritoneal dialysis treatment — case report

Abstract

Some patients on peritoneal dialysis treatment need a very careful approach in constructing prescriptions for Automated Peritoneal Dialysis (APD). This can be facilitated by the use of special computer programs prepared for this purpose. In Poland two software programs are available: PD Adequest Baxterand PatientOnLine Fresenius Medical Care. These applications are also apply for evaluation of peritoneal permeability by using a different kinetic models of peritoneal transport and to determine a lot of adequacy indexes.
