Abstract

Dilated pore of Winer is a benign cutaneous lesion of unknown etiology. Clinically it resembles a giant comedo, often plugged with a core of keratin. It occurs mainly in middle-aged people and the elderly. Dilated pore is typically located on the face and neck. It is usually a clinical diagnosis. Histopathologic examination should be performed if there is any doubt. It is a benign adnexal neoplasm of the follicular infundibulum. Dilated pore of Winer is never malignant, though it can be considered as a cosmetic defect. Excision is curative in most cases.
