Abstract

Left atrial myxoma is the most prevalent cardiac tumour constituting about 50% of all benign cardiac tumours. The course of the disease can differ from patient to patient. Range of signs and symptoms vary from no or scarce symptoms to life-threatening rhythm disturbances, central and peripheral emboli, or even sudden cardiac death. Appropriate diagnosis of this group of patients is essential and following cardiac surgery in necessary. In the article we present case of asymptomatic patient with incidentally diagnosed atrial myxoma.
