Acarbose in type 2 diabetes algorithms of therapy - commentary

Abstract
In algorithm of management of hyperglicaemia published
as ADA/EASD consensus acarbose is mentioned
as additional therapy. This algorithm is now criticized
and needs modifications. In Polish recommendations
acarbose is located on second step of therapy.
It is safe and effective alternative in individualization
of type 2 diabetes treatment.
