Kawa a ryzyko rozwoju nadciśnienia tętniczego i innych chorób układu krążenia

Streszczenie

Picie kawy zostało zapoczątkowane przez Arabów między XI a XII wiekiem. W Polsce kawa pojawiła się pod koniec XVII wieku. Kawa jest najczęściej spożywanym napojem obok wody.  Od lat 60. XX wieku opublikowano liczne badania dotyczące wpływu spożywania kawy na ryzyko chorób układu krążenia. Dostępne wyniki dostarczają nieraz wykluczających się informacji. Celem niniejszego przeglądu jest przedstawienie aktualnych danych dotyczących wpływu spożywania kawy na ryzyko chorób układu krążenia; nadciśnienia tętniczego, niewydolności serca, zaburzeń rytmu serca, udaru mózgu oraz cukrzycy typu 2.
